It’s A Grand Slam For Combustion Media and The Continental Baseball League!
DALLAS, TX—April 2009—Combustion Media, Inc. (CMI) announced today that they have signed an agreement with The Continental Baseball League to manage advertising and promotional opportunities on a league wide basis. CMI acting as an exclusive advertising partner will bring many new advertisers to The Continental Baseball League as well as take on the responsibility of securing advertisers for specific league sponsorships, naming rights and promotional opportunities.
The announcer yelling “Play Ball” and the crack of a bat will soon be heard in stadiums across America as players and advertisers throw out their first pitches and six teams under the Continental Baseball League banner begin their 2009 seasons. Combustion Media has crafted several branding opportunities for advertisers wishing to have visual presence in the ballparks on varied promotional items including uniforms, bases, bats, t-shirt giveaways and even graphic wraps on team buses. These unique branding possibilities can be utilized in all stadiums or the venue of choice in both home and away appearances by CBL teams. The CMI sales team will work directly with advertisers and sponsors to create the perfect promotional package to put brands in front of fans.
Combustion Media will be working with regional and national advertisers to secure sponsorship packages for the Continental Baseball League. Sponsors can choose from several different levels of sponsorship which will include prominent advertising in each stadium, embroidered brand patches on uniforms, custom branding on hats and batters helmets, sponsor logos displayed along side of the CBL logo in all printed materials and pre-game autograph sessions with players and fans. Each package will be custom designed to maximize the exposure that each sponsor strives to achieve in their promotions to over 11,500 fans at more than 180 games, all-star games, playoffs and the CBL World Series. The potential for brand awareness is enormous with 350,000 fans attending CBL games and other venue activities in all six markets.
“Having the opportunity to provide new sponsorship packages and advertising promotional platforms to the Continental Baseball League is exciting” said Tim McCallum, President and Chief Executive Officer of Combustion Media. “In today’s economy, we are seeing more families frequent the Minor League parks which is driving up attendance numbers, giving our sponsors and advertisers a broader exposure to the fans. What better way to reach consumers than to sponsor a CBL team that is bringing professional baseball back to many markets that have not experienced this level of play in recent years”.
“Combustion Media brings a new dimension to the Continental Baseball League’s advertising efforts by introducing new promotional and sponsorship packages to our teams and ball parks. Sponsors will have access to prime real estate in the park positioning their products front and center to potentially 350,000 visitors each season”, said Ron Baron, CEO and Commissioner of the Continental Baseball League. “We are very excited to partner with Combustion Media in this new advertising venture”.
CBL commissioner and CEO Ron Baron, along with Bob Ibach, director of league operations, said the CBL, in its third year of operating an independent professional baseball league, will be aligned with 6 teams for the upcoming 60-game season that begins in mid-May. Baron announced, The Big Bend Cowboys and The South Louisiana Pipeliners will be joining returning CBL franchises in Bay Area (Texas City) and Texarkana, plus two new CBL franchises in Dallas and Alexandria, LA for the coming season.
“This offers our league a great opportunity to expose our brand of baseball to many more cities in the southwest area, and we feel the citizens of those areas will enjoy our family first, cost-effective brand of professional baseball,” said Baron. “I truly feel that these new cities will be involved in our league for years to come and help take us to a new level of play and excitement.”
The Continental Baseball League was founded in 2006 and played its inaugural season May-August 2007, the Continental Baseball League is dedicated to creating “America’s Hometown Teams”—a group of professional independent baseball franchises, playing in fan-friendly facilities, providing a fun environment for families to experience professional baseball at affordable prices. "One of the reasons I got involved with the CBL was to bring affordable baseball to families, with an emphasis on creating a fun time at the ballpark for youngsters of all ages. Ticket prices at the major league level have climbed dramatically, whereas it costs more than $300 for a family of four to attend a game. In our league, a family of four can come to a game for under $50,” said Baron.
Continental Baseball League players are part of their hometown team community—providing complimentary autographs after games, spending time at schools, hosting camps, and participating in local events. With the League's support, players are given the opportunity to improve their skills, expose and parlay their unique baseball talents to scouts; and if they desire and qualify, move into positions with Major League Baseball affiliated organizations.
In addition to working with The Continental Baseball League, Combustion has also signed advertising agreements with The Grand Prairie AirHogs, The Fort Worth Cats, The Shreveport Captains, Texarkana Gunslingers, Bay Area Toros and The Alexandria Aces. Advertising opportunities will be available in many existing areas as well as numerous new locations throughout the stadium including concession areas, food courts, beer gardens and restrooms. CMI will secure the advertisers, manage print production and will be available for custom design and copywriting if requested.
